Contrasts: Double Matured

Natural Colour | Peated | 46% vol
first-fill bourbon casks then Bordeaux wine casks
Contrasts: Double Matured

Double Matured from our Contrasts range has aged slightly differently to our signature Benromach style. This limited small batch release single malt has matured for a total of 12 years, spending its first 7 years in a first-fill Bourbon barrel then transferred into a Bordeaux wine cask for a further 5 years.

The influence of the Bourbon and red Bordeaux wine casks results in a whisky with delicate honey and floral aromas, notes of forest fruits and toasted oak, finishing on our signature soft touch of peat smoke.

Benromach Contrasts: Double Matured

We use lightly peated barley in this release and the phenol levels within this whisky are around 12PPM, similar to our Benromach Core Range.

Distilled in 2011 and bottled in 2023, this whisky has matured for 12 years in two very different cask types resulting in a deep amber colour and creating a unique expression within our Contrasts range.
