Benromach Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky is a race partner of the Glasgow: Scotland with style Clipper in the Clipper 07-08 Round the World Yacht Race.
The race, which set sail from Liverpool on Sunday 16th September 2007 will last ten months and take in 35,000 miles of ocean racing. La Rochelle is the first port of call for the fleet of yachts, and representatives from Benromach Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky will be in attendance at the key side to welcome the yachts into port after racing 610 nautical miles.
On Thursday 20th September 2007, Thierry Benitah of La Maison Du Whisky has invited key customers to meet Michael Urquhart and Derek Hancock of Gordon & MacPhail, owners and proprietors of Benromach Distillery. Guests will be given the opportunity to welcome the yachts have a look round onboard and talk to the crew about the challenges of the race.
This will be followed by a whisky tasting in a local restaurant, La Général Humbert, where the full range of Benromach products will be presented by Michael Urquhart and Derek Hancock.
A BBQ organised by Clipper Ventures Plc will be held in the Yacht Club in La Rochelle at 8.00pm on the Thursday evening. Tickets are required for this event.
On Friday 21st of September 2007, a tasting of various expressions from the Benromach range will be presented to VIP guests of Clipper Ventures Plc, on board the Glasgow: Scotland with style yacht.

The fleet of ten yachts will set off from La Rochelle on Sunday 23rd of September, across the Atlantic to Salvador da Bahia in Brazil.
