Benromach Centenary Bottling 17 year old (43%) Single Speyside Malt Scotch Whisky (no longer available)

To celebrate the centenary of Benromach Distillery in 1998, Gordon & MacPhail released a limited edition bottling. Selected casks of 15 years old Benromach were racked over into three very old sherry butts - the butts had been used in sherry bodogas since 1886, 1895 and 1901. We believe these casks to be the oldest ever used to mature Scotch Whisky.

Comment: Light and elegant, a delicate malt selected to mark the re-opening of this excellent Speyside distillery. Some understated sherry and soft malt make for a typically understated dram.
