Martine
Nouet is France's foremost writer on whisky.
Known as "La Reine de l'alambic" ("Queen
of the still"), she delights in discovering
new malts, not only to drink, but also to cook
with. Martine is also a Keeper of the Quaich.
Colour: Ripe gold.
Nose: Intensely sweet. Malty. Honey. A touch
of cedar. Juicy peach. A hint of chestnut.
With water, releases floral notes (marsh mallow,
clover honey). Vanilla breaks through in custardy
waves.
Body: Oily, medium.
Palate: Smooth and velvety, rich, coating. Honey.
Nutty.
Finish: Chewy with a gentle spiciness. Almondy.
Comment: A fragrant Speysider. Classic with style.
To be enjoyed on a warm afternoon with toasted
nuts and almonds.
