The Spirit of Speyside Whisky Festival has
yet again proved very successful for Gordon & MacPhail
and Benromach Distillery.
The Magical Whiskery Tour fun day was held on 6th May, at
Benromach Distillery. With over 1400 people attending, it
proved to be a tonic for the whole family. The sunshine attracted
many local people to take the leisurely walk down to the
distillery from the town and others came from far and wide
including, Japan, the Netherlands and Devon.
Face painting, Bubbles the Clown, Fochabers
Fiddlers and Free distillery tours, to name a few things,
ensured that the whole family was catered for.
The Nosing Competition proved very successful
with participants avidly hiding their answers from onlookers – the
judges will certainly have a hard time finding the winner
with the highest points. The free tours kept the tour guides
busy on their feet proving to be one of the key attractions.
All the games, including Skittles, Bung the Bung and Rolling
the Hoop were managed by a team of friendly ‘witches’ and
Merlin! and the children, including some adults, took up
the offer of free ‘Magical’ balloons. Meile’s
of Forres produced some wonderful Benromach Ice Cream – much
to the delight of many on such a warm day. |
